Speech therapist will assess individuals with communication difficulties and swallowing problem.
After assessment, therapists will analyse individual’s ability and discuss feasible treatment plans with the family. These might include swallowing rehabilitation programme, learning swallowing techniques, suggestions on communication training or finding alternative ways of communicating.
The goal of therapy is to improve individual’s well-being and minimize the impact of the existing difficulties.
